For this year’s birthday celebration, I have decided to donate to United Way’s education program that focuses on some terrific kids who are eager to learn how to read.
I think it is important from time to time to remind ourselves how fortunate we are – the opportunity to create a life that we love, our professional career and, most of all, being surrounded by wonderful friends and a loving family. My father taught us the importance of giving back to our community and I have witnessed firsthand that by giving, we indeed live richer lives". It is a philosophy that we have embraced and put into practice and stand proud that my father's community spirit is alive and well.
For almost 20 years, United Way Romania has helped thousands of vulnerable children stay in school and supports their families in overcoming their own difficulties.
United Way, Romania has become part of my family in many ways, I feel that we both have learned and benefited from our common community service.
- A kind request to all my friends, colleagues and anyone else who is thinking of buying me a birthday present: No need to stress searching for that 12-year old scotch, Trump survival guide, chilled Moet, or historical biographies; the best gift you can make is a small donation to United Way.
I know that we can’t address all problems, however, a small contribution in the right place goes a long way.
